The Blacklist season 6 episode 21 preview: The Anna McMahon face-off

Coming up on The Blacklist season 6 episode 21, you’re seeing Anna McMahon in one corner and Harold Cooper in the other. This is it — the beginning of the final showdown this season. It’s a quest to uncover the truth about the conspiracy, a vast one that has stretched across much of the past several episodes and traced back to Reddington being behind bars.

The fact that this upcoming episode is entitled “Anna McMahon” gives you at least a small sense of where this story is going. Meanwhile, there’s also some other stuff worth noting — take, for example, the fact that the finale is entitled “Robert Diaz.” Effectively, we’re going from McMahon right to POTUS, a way in which to give you a threat and then an even bigger threat on the other side. Things are going to get crazy — really crazy. By the end of this, your head could be spinning and that’s without really touching on so much what’s happening with the central mythology at the heart of this show. Who is Raymond Reddington, really? Despite all we know, we’re still not sure we know everything. There could be a darker secret, a deeper answer buried out there.

If you want a few more specifics on The Blacklist season 6 episode 21, CarterMatt has them in the synopsis below:

05/10/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : Presidential adviser Anna McMahon (guest star Jennifer Ferrin) faces off with Cooper (Harry Lennix) and the Task Force in a winner-takes-all race to locate the missing dossier containing details of a conspiracy against America. Benito Martinez, Ben Horner and Nathan Darrow also guest star. TV-14 V

Don’t expect clear answers on the conspiracy or anything else in this episode — more could be coming within the finale, but even with that, you also have to wonder how much they’ll want to share — there’s at least one more season left beyond this, and we’ve got this feeling that The Blacklist isn’t going to fully open up the war chest until we get to the series finale and all of the cards are placed firmly on the table. The best we can do until then is ponder, create theorize, and also look at the past evidence like the shrewd detectives we try to be. We don’t even really mind the mystery, given that this is one of the things that makes The Blacklist the show that it is. Its deeply rooted in mystery, surprisingly emotional, and also one stuffed with great performances. That includes James Spader.
