‘Survivor: Philippines’ preview: A look at the next challenge
There’s something that we find rather fun in getting behind-the-scenes looks at “Survivor” challenges, mainly because what is supposed to happen on paper does not often happen during the actual game. Often, contestants find new ways to make the challenge easier while under duress, and they also manage to figure out ways to struggle that no one ever seems coming.
What we are primarily excited about when it comes to the challenge this week is that it is something that we have not really seen before on the show. Using some traditional methods of carrying rice in the Philippines, the castaways have to carry two pots on their shoulders across some various obstacles along a course. At the very end of all this, one castaway has to use a wrecking ball (one that could actually be dangerous to them if they don’t pay attention) to smash all of the pots.
Based on what we saw already from the previous preview for the episode, Malcolm Freberg seems to be the contestant on Matsing who is going to be responsible for this part of the challenge, and really whether or not they win is going to be completely up to him. However, don’t expect him to be on the chopping block even if he blows it; instead, it’s all but guaranteed that Russell Swan would go home in such a scenario, and we would be left with a tribe of two. At this point, we would hope producers would put these people out of their misery a little bit and stick these two people on separate tribes.
Do you think that this looks like an exciting challenge?
