Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 24 preview: Owen’s choice + more

Next week, Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 24 is heading your way on ABC, and this one is obviously quite important. How else would you really describe the penultimate episode of the season? We know a lot about these characters and where they are … or at least we do well enough to see them shaken up now to where there are more questions than answers going in to the finale. Isn’t that precisely what the folks over at ABC would want entering season 16? They want to give us something to talk about over the summer.

For us entering episode 24, the #1 question that we have is just what Owen is going to do — or, more specifically, who he is going to choose? Where does his heart lie at the moment? What’s going to be going on with him now? It seems like his therapy has actually been working out for him, at least to the point where he’s got a clearer sense of precisely what he wants in terms of his future. With that in mind, this episode will fixate on him trying to present that decision and go through with it. Given that Owen is the person that he is, we don’t foresee this burden being lifted off him as a reason for him to suddenly slow down. He’s going to act — it’s probably just going to cause some wreckage along the way. This is the chief source of irony for Owen — right when he has things together, he may still find a way to cause chaos for everyone else … basically, the same thing that he’s been accused of doing all along.

Alex tries desperately to save his patient Gus while he waits for a severely agoraphobic blood donor to arrive from London. Jo reveals to Meredith why she’s been so down, while Catherine and Bailey hold a meeting to get down to the bottom of an insurance issue. Meanwhile, Maggie and Jackson go camping.

Finally, we’re going to see Jo tell someone, and it certainly feels like it’s the perfect person. Meredith is a mentor for her and she can help steer her in the right direction; also, Meredith does offer her consolation perhaps in a way that few others really do. She understands grief; she’s been through it and had her heart shattered to pieces. After losing Derek and what she went through with Lexie, Meredith is, unfortunately, an expert in finding ways to move forward after horrible things happen to her.

As for Maggie and Jackson, going camping could be fun … or it could be a total disaster.
