Supergirl season 4 episode 20 preview: Eve fights back

Supergirl season 4 episode 3

Excited to see some of what’s coming on Supergirl season 4 episode 20? Well, let’s start with this: Eve is making her presence felt! A certain Miss Tessmacher is coming back to the show to cause a bit more chaos, trying to prove in the process that she has learned quite a bit from her mentor in Lex Luthor (read more about Lex and why Jon Cryer has created one of the best adaptations of him over at the link here). She has a specific goal in mind, and she’ll do everything that she can to make it happen — trying to make it clear that Kara is Supergirl. Obviously, that’s a problem for everyone close to Kara.

While there’s going to be ALL sorts of superhero chaos with Eve’s return, there are also a number of other stories scattered throughout here. For some more insight all about what’s coming, be sure to check out the official Supergirl season 4 episode 20 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

MISS TESSMACHER RETURNS WITH A VENGEANCE – Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Lena (Katie McGrath) head to Kaznia to hunt down Lex. However, Eve Tessmacher (guest star Andrea Brooks) sets a trap for the duo that could ultimately reveal that Kara is Supergirl. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) gets a long-awaited phone call, James (Mehcad Brooks) practices using his powers, and Ben Lockwood (Sam Witwer) takes a dangerous stand inside the DEO. Shannon Kohli directed the episode with story by Derek Simon and teleplay by Katie Rose Rogers & Natalie Abrams (#420). Original airdate 5/5/2019.

For James, go ahead and consider this episode his opportunity to get the superhero training montage sequence. We’re still not sold on the idea that all of this will end okay for James, but we understand why he would try to go ahead and make an impact on the work. He wants to help.

As for Alex’s phone call, could this be tied to the adoption agency? We know that it’s something that she’s wanted for a while, and it could allow her a chance to have a deeper, personal story that is more about her — something that is completely separate from almost everyone else. Of course, we do think that if Alex is lucky enough to be a mom, she’s going to have plenty of people at her side willing and wanting to help out in every way possible.

The only other takeaway that we know at the moment is that if you’re Ben Lockwood, you’re probably just going to get crazier and crazier as this story goes along. While you can argue that Lex is the real Big Bad of this story, Lockwood’s been the most visible. That’s not something that we think is going to change at any point in the super-near future.
