TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 2 spoilers: Judith Light cast as…

The latest casting news for “Dallas” has now arrived online, and on this occasion, it looks as though we have a former Emmy-winner front and center in a role that should have many people talking.

According to a new report from TVLine, Judith Light of “One Life to Live” and “Who’s the Boss?” fame is going recur throughout the show’s upcoming second season (premiering on January 28) as an extremely controlling woman who likes to emotionally manipulate people in order to get precisely what she wants. So are the odds leaning heavily in her favor that she could be taking on the role of Ann Ewing’s mother? That’s what the rumor mill is suggesting, though at the moment this has been far from confirmed. Even if it is true, there are still plenty of details still out there to be learned.

“Dallas” received a fairly quick renewal from TNT this past summer after debuting to some solid ratings, and one of the primary reasons for it was that producers wanted to make sure they capitalized on what could be a long-standing hit for them. It is one of the rare serialized shows that they have away from “Falling Skies,” and the other nice thing about it was that it managed to have a healthy mix of fans of the old series along with people who were catching life at South Fork Ranch for the first time. The show is already filming again, which is indicative of just how quick of a turnaround it was for them to go from premiering in the summer to then in the winter.
