Giorgia Borg gets Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent with ‘Ten’ song

BGT

Tonight, Britain’s Got Talent aired another new episode and with that, of course, came another Golden Buzzer. The question was precisely who was going to get it this time.

After a fairly-weak show as a whole last week, there were SO many cool acts tonight. Admittedly, we thought for a while that we were going to be seeing Rollabatics end up getting it just because they were SO intense and exciting. Yet, as the show went longer and longer, it was clearer that the Golden Buzzer act was going to be saved until the very end of the night … provided, of course, that we got one at all and we were not being set up for some sort of trickery.

The moment that we saw Georgia lead into being out on the stage, we felt fairly confident that she was going to be the chosen one — she is a younger singer who wrote her own song, and it appears as though she strives to be like Alesha Dixon. What we like about her perhaps more than anything is that she seems refreshingly normal — she doesn’t feel like some sort of superstar plant. She’s a longtime fan of the show and checks it out on YouTube with great regularity.

The moment that she actually started to belted out her original song “Ten” on the show, we felt pretty confident that she was going to get that Buzzer. There was really no debate. While her voice is a little raw and she strained it on a couple of notes, you can’t argue with her confidence, her ability, or the emotion in which she sang. This is one of the most promising young vocalists we’ve seen on the British show in a while and it was clear from the get-go that Alesha loved her. All the stars were aligning, and then soon after that Alesha pressed it. She feels confident that she is a star and she loves “everything’ about her. This is a big endorsement and it could end up bringing her some big things in the future.

Can Giorgia win this show?

We do think that she’s got a legitimate shot at this! The biggest thing that she’s going to need in order to make it happen is another great original song — she can probably do “Ten” again once, but she also needs something else to go along with it. She also does have a chance at a real, legitimate career after the show, and that’s not something you can say all the time with acts from this show.
