‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez and Charice mentor; Mariah Carey news

For this Monday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, we are focusing in our stories on really just two people associated with the show. The good news? Both of these stories are rather interesting.

We’ll begin with the photo to the left, which clearly shows Jessica Sanchez taking off on a flight to an unknown destination with legendary producer David Foster. What is notable about Foster is that he has been credited in “discovering” such singers as Celine Dion, Michael Buble, and Josh Groban. In addition to that, he has also worked with Mariah Carey, Cher, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston. There is also an interesting connection to the Philippines here, as Foster helped to create Charice into an international star over the past several years, and she even toured with him on some of his “David Foster and Friends” concerts.

We’re not sure what is going to come out of this just yet, but we can’t think of many more people in the music industry that could be more valuable for Jessica at the moment.

Nick Cannon talks Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj – Even though the feud between Mariah and Nicki has received a number of headlines over the past several weeks, there is one person who is not worried that some of the alleged threats made back and forth are going to become anything at all: Carey’s own husband Nick Cannon.

Speaking in a new interview with E! News, here is what the “America’s Got Talent” host had to say about the subject of the fighting behind the scenes:

“I wasn’t concerned … That’s exactly what you called it was drama. With drama, it’s theatrics. I’m not worried about that stuff.”

The good news for Carey here is that Cannon already knows how some of these shows work behind the scenes courtesy of his hosting job, so he can inform her of just what she can expect.
