Shadowhunters season 3 finale spoilers: A wedding + other details!
With the Shadowhunters season 3 finale now less than two weeks away, finally some details are starting to trickle in. These two episodes will clock in at over two hours including commercials, and be aware that they are going to be emotional. Really emotional. Think drowning in a sea of tears and needing a pint of ice cream to sooth your heart emotional (at least that’s how we deal with stuff like this – we like to eat our feelings and ice cream is a go to… especially chocolate peanut butter!).
There’s going to be a wedding (hooray, romance!), but there will also be more chaos courtesy of Jonathan … who clearly is not done wrecking havoc at this point in the story. Clary will try and play the role of unifier, and we’ll probably see a few dramatic twists that nobody will see coming.
Will there be closure by the end of the story? Based on many of the quotes that we’ve heard over the past few months, there will be — yet, the door will also still be left reasonably ajar for there to be something more coming up for these characters down the road. Unfortunately right now there is nothing further planned and Freeform is billing what is coming up as a “series finale” … but it’s okay to have just the slightest bit of hope in the future, right? We at least like to think so, since you don’t quite know what the future is going to hold. Like who out there ever though we were going to see Murphy Brown, Will and Grace, or The X-Files back on the air? Never say never.

In the first part of the series finale, Clary comes up with a plan that will bring Shadowhunters and Downworlders together, as Alec struggles for a way to help Magnus.
In the second part of the series finale, Jonathan begins his reign of vengeful terror as the Shadowhunters try to find a way to stop him. With only one hope, Clary must make a sacrifice that could have long-lasting implications for all. Meanwhile, wedding bells are in the air for one special couple.
As we get closer to the finale, you don’t have to ask us twice what the primary selling point is going to be — it’s going to be the wedding. It has to be the wedding. It’s one of the most important moments of the entire series and it’s the culmination of a really wonderful journey. We don’t want to spoil who could be at the center of it in case you’re in the dark, but we’re hoping that it will be an occasion with a lot of romance, hope, and a feeling that the journey has been worth it. You could echo most of this and then apply it over to the series itself. Shadowhunters fans have endured a lot, including lengthy hiatuses, the cancellation, and also doing everything they can to save it with a world wide campaign. They deserve an opportunity to smile and to know that even if this is the end for the series on television, it’s going out in a way that they can feel good about when it comes to the story.
