Chicago Med season 4 episode 19 video: Crisis for Connor’s father

Obviously, most of the news within the Chicago Med community at the moment is overshadowed by the impending exit of Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling. We understand why. You’re talking here about two important cast members, let alone two characters who have a romantic history. Sure, they have at this point had MANY different highs and lows (some of them of the super crazy variety), but that doesn’t take away from their journey.

One thing that can’t get lost in the midst of all of the conversation, though, is the fact that there is a new episode coming up on NBC this Wednesday. Within this one, Connor’s going to be dealing with a crisis that doesn’t have anything to do with his own exit down the road; instead, it involves the medical condition of his father Cornelius. He’s at the hospital seemingly to tear down Gwen Garrett but in the middle of that, he starts to suffer some chest pains. This leads to Connor arriving and following that, getting a determination as to how he is feeling.

If you’ve been watching Chicago Med for a while now, then you have a pretty accurate determination already of the state of things between Connor and his father. Their relationship is not a particularly great one, and it is specifically one marred with a number of incidents including what’s taken place with him and Ava.

Yet, none of this takes away from the fact that Cornelius is still Connor’s father and with his life in danger, he wants to jump in to help him and try to make sure that he is okay. This preview allows you to see some of that, and it is also clear that, throughout this episode, he’s going to check in on him.

Could Connor leave Chicago because of his father?

Maybe not directly, but we could see him being a component of it. We already knew that Rhodes contemplated leaving last season in order to go to the Mayo Clinic, and we think that he does have an interest in trying to forge his way towards making a larger legacy for himself. In Chicago, he’s always going to be living underneath his father’s shadow in one way or another. Consider this potentially just one component to what we’re going to be getting as we inch closer and closer to the finale.
