Next week, you’re getting another double dose of The Blacklist season 6 with both episode 18 and 19 coming on the air. It’s an exciting thing to behold, and for this show, it’s also a little bit of a necessity. It has to catch up in order to end before May sweeps, and it’s getting closer and closer to being at that point.

We’re certainly not upset about NBC’s scheduling decision at present, especially since we’ve learned that these two particular episodes coming up are two of the most important of the entire season. You’re going to have a chance to get some big-time answers as to what’s happening both in terms of characters in the present, and then also the ever-enigmatic Katarina Rostova in the past. Lotte Verbeek is coming back for what’s going to be one of the most-fascinating episodes in some time.

Without further ado, let’s go ahead now and share some more details for what’s coming — in other words, handing down and offering up some more reasons for excitement.

Season 6 episode 18, “The Brockton College Killer” -04/26/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : When a frozen corpse is discovered in the woods, the Task Force is drawn into the investigation of an old case that has gained notoriety due to a popular true crime podcast. Meanwhile, Red (James Spader) visits Dom Wilkinson (guest star Brian Dennehy) for help making a difficult decision, and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) makes a discovery about Katarina Rostova’s past. TV-14 S, V”

Sound creepy — and exciting — to everyone else? This episode is most notable to us thanks to the return of Dom, who has long been central to the Katarina mystery. He’s one of the most important cogs in the overall puzzle.

Season 6 episode 19, “Rassvet” -04/26/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Friday) : Alone in a foreign country after a mission goes catastrophically wrong, Katarina Rostova (guest star Lotte Verbeek) goes on the run to avoid the forces trying to hunt her down. Isolated and out of options, she seeks out the only person she trusts, a man who has vowed to always protect her. Gabriel Mann and Brian Dennehy also guest star. TV-14 L, V”

Clearly, Dom is also showing up in this episode, but it feels as though we’re going to be moving into the past rather than focusing just on the present. We don’t even know if any major characters will even be in this episode. It does remind us a great deal of “Cape May,” one of the most important stories within the entire annals of The Blacklist history … at least in our mind.

By the end of these episodes, there’s a good chance that we’ll have a greater sense of this world … or so we hope.
