Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 23 return date for Ellen Pompeo, cast
At this point, we’ve had an embarrassment of riches when it comes to new episodes airing. We’ve had a near-constant deluge of them from earlier this year to where we are now. That’s a consequence of ABC not airing that many new episodes in the fall, and then also the Ellen Pompeo series having an extensive, 25-episode run this year — the most episodes the show has done since the season Patrick Dempsey departed as a primary cast member.

Unfortunately, we are not getting a new episode of the show next week. Instead, season 15 episode 23 (entitled “What I Did For Love”) is going to be airing on Thursday, May 2. This is going to be the first part of a two-part Station 19 crossover event — basically, the best way possible for Grey’s Anatomy to boost the ratings of the spin-off and for ABC to create some television event.
While the network is being reasonably coy as to what’s coming, we do have an official Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 23 synopsis below with a few more assorted details:
Maggie treats one of Station 19’s own, and Jo learns a hard lesson. Meanwhile, when working with a family seeking asylum, Meredith makes a call that could jeopardize her career.
Within this episode, we’re assuming that the Station 19 plot will take center stage — we know that Maggie’s also going to appear in the second half of the episode. (Not all Grey’s Anatomy characters are going to cross over — these events are often tricky since there are financial and scheduling issues at play.) The Meredith story may be significant in its own right, separate from whatever is going on there. She is, at the moment, working on having a new relationship, but also recognizing that there are some other career issues that could be coming. While we think that a lot of her legacy is sewn up — you don’t get some of the awards that she has otherwise — you do still have to worry about things that could derail you in the present, though, and we don’t think that medicine is the sort of field where you can really take your eye off the ball for all that long a period of time.
