Blue Bloods season 9 episode 21 spoilers: Eddie’s dad returns; twin drama

Blue Bloods season 9

What is coming up on Blue Bloods season 9 episode 21? This episode, entitled “Identity,” is inching close to Jamie and Eddie’s wedding! Because of that, the writers felt like there was one important order of business that needs to be taken care of –one that involves Eddie’s father Armin showing up. We know that Armin is a guy not typically up to any good; yet, we’re always going to be pleased with a chance to see William Sadler on the show again. Really, any chance to see Sadler is an opportunity to celebrate.

Just in case Eddie’s father is not enough of a reason for you to get excited, here’s some other important stuff to prepare for. This episode is going to give you a chance to see a fascinating case for Danny and Baez, while Frank is realizing that his granddaughter Nicky is venturing in a surprising direction when it comes to her career. It’s not the sort of thing that he would typically approve of, but it’s mostly because the group she’s wanting to join is one that has a history of clashing with police.

For more good stuff on what’s coming, CarterMatt has the full Blue Bloods season 9 episode 21 synopsis below:

“Identity” – DNA evidence in a murder case leads Danny and Baez to identical twins with identical alibis. Also, Frank learns Nicky is interviewing for a job at the Justice Coalition, which he rarely sees eye-to-eye with, and Jamie visits Eddie’s father, Armin (William Sadler), in prison, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, May 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Why would Jamie want to visit Armin?

Let’s spend a minute on that question, given that clearly, Jamie doesn’t need Eddie’s father’s permission to marry her. For starters, this is 2019; also, he’s been a pretty atrocious father. We think that this is more him wanting to make it clear that he’s going to give Eddie the life that she deserves, one that Armin tried to deprive her of. We don’t think that Jamie’s going in there with a vengeance, but we hardly think that this is a nice-nice visit to bond with an incarcerated father-in-law. There’s something more to this, and for the writers, it may just have a little bit to do with making sure multiple aspects of Eddie’s backstory are included leading up to the wedding.

Let’s look at things in this way: So much of Blue Bloods is about the Reagan family, and we already know that the wedding is going to be overrun with them. It’s going to be nice to have at least some Janko conversation leading up to it, even the less-than-desirable people like Armin along the way.
