Station 19 (Andy & Ryan) vs. Manifest (Jared & Michaela) – Crime Dynamic Duos 2019

Dynamic Duos

Welcome to CarterMatt’s Crime Dynamic Duos for 2019! The goal for this tournament is pretty easy to explain: Recognizing some of the best crime fighters in all of television. The word “crimefighter” can at times have a loose interpretation, but for the sake of this tournament, we’re referring to it mostly as cops, lawyers, or investigators who do their best to take down some pretty bad people and fight to help others. They’re the sort of characters you typically admire, and they have an aspirational quality to them along with them being entertaining.

Within this piece, the second round officially continues with some surprising finishers — most notably, Andy & Ryan from Station 19! They managed to narrowly defeat Liz & Reddington from The Blacklist, which marks the first time that a #1 seed has fallen in this tournament. Their opponent this time around is Michaela & Jared from Manifest, who appear to be entering the second round this time raring to go.

If you’ve been around for past editions of Crime Dynamic Duos, then you know a thing or two about how this works — at the bottom of this article is a poll to vote for who you want to see advance! One duo will, and at the end of the month, we’ll officially crown the champion in all of their glory.

How voting works – Vote however often you would like! (Technical instructions for multiple voting can be found right above the poll.) We will keep this poll open until Friday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time, and the winning duo here will have a chance to face off against one of a wide array of different contestants. Think in terms of either Danny & Baez, Garcia & Alvez, Wynonna & Nicole, or Sherlock & Joan. That field of four will be narrowed officially down from four to two tomorrow.

You can see the full bracket (including start dates for each individual round) in the graphic at the top of this article.

The competitors

Andy & Ryan, Station 19 (#8 seed) – Entering the first round, it was hard in order to properly figure out just how these two were going to fare, and for a multitude of different reasons. They were totally new to Dynamic Duos and given that they’re also not your typical crimefighting duo (Andy isn’t even a cop), we weren’t sure what the enthusiasm would be. Yet, as it turns out the support base was loud and strong for the group, and we’ve now got a great chance to see what’s going to happen with the two in yet another showdown!

The participation of Andy & Ryan at the moment in Dynamic Duos is also coinciding rather well with Station 19 currently being on the air. There are still some more episodes to come for season 2, and if you want to see a season 3 renewal happen, one of the best things you can do is catch the next batch of stories live!

Jared & Michaela, Manifest (#5 seed) – Here we have another pair of newcomers to Crime Dynamic Duos and while they both do have experience in law enforcement, we knew that there was no guarantee that they’d pull off the round 1 victory!

Yet, it’s easy to see the appeal of these two characters given the length of their history and also some of what they’ve gone through. We think one of the reasons why partnerships with romantic spins are so popular is because you’re presenting audiences with a very specific set of stakes. You’ve got characters often featured here who want to fight for each other because of feelings that they have, but then also because of the loyalty they have as colleagues or the history they’ve got of taking down bad guys. A lengthy disappearance isn’t going to slow down the power of the Michaela – Jared connection.

Now, we turn this over to you

Be sure to vote for who you want to see advance below!

I can’t see the poll; what do I do? – If you are on mobile, scroll to the bottom of the page and click to view the non-AMP version. If that does not work, give the poll a moment to load! On some mobile browsers, it may take a moment.

How can I vote more than once? – Just refresh the page! If you are having trouble casting multiple votes, try switching your browser, your device, or visiting the page under private browsing or incognito mode. There should be many handy guides online explaining how to do so if interested.
