Supernatural season 14 episode 19 preview: ‘Jack in the Box’
Here, the sadness is generated knowing that the next-to-last finale is coming, as well as the last hiatus from one season to the next. We also do have a story coming that could contain quite a few building blocks for whatever the story of the final season will be. We’ve seen so much of Supernatural these days revolve around angels, demons, and Biblical characters across the board. We have to think that this is the direction that the show is heading for the finale, given that one of the best ways to ensure there is peace on earth (what Sam and Dean have been fighting for all of these years) is to ensure that Heaven and Hell sort of have their you-know-what together … even if doing that isn’t exactly altogether easy.
Supernatural season 14 episode 19 is entitled “Jack in the Box,” which we have to assume is more about Alexander Calvert’s character than some sort of advertisement for fast food. (Side note: We could really go for some curly fries right now.) The synopsis for this episode below gives you at least a small sense of what’s coming:
A PILLAR OF SALT- Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) investigate a string of suspicious deaths that have a biblical element to them. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner (#1419). Original airdate 4/18/2019.

Whatever transpires in this episode is likely not going to be resolved in “Jack in the Box,” given that the finale seems to be as linked to it as it could possibly be. Even the title here in “Moriah” is one that has super-specific Biblical undertones to it and that’s not something that we can explicitly forget about now? We’re gearing up for an epic battle, a potential parting of the sea with some good characters on one side and with some bad characters on the other. It may be a little more complicated than that, but we think that the lines between Heaven and Hell can be at least reasonably defined at this point. (You can read a little bit more insight in advance of the Supernatural finale just by heading over to the link here.)
