NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 20 video: Hetty’s back in the office!

While you may have had to wait for a little while after the Deeks – Kensi wedding for her to be back, Hetty is making her presence felt on NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 20! Beyond that, we absolutely love what she’s doing in the sneak peek below. It’s almost one of the best, signature Hetty moments that we’ve had where she says quite a bit without actually saying all that much at all.

In the video below, you can see none other than Eric Beale paying her a visit while she surveys her office — which leads to a fairly epic Eric tangent like no other as he struggles to make conversation while she mostly just sits there and wonders what in the world is going on with him. She finally does speak, she keeps things to the point as she acts him if they are feeding him properly. It’s hilarious, and it’s that dry humor that this show desperately needed during the time in which Hetty was gone from this show.

In reality, we wonder if Eric was paying her a visit to inform her about his decision to potentially leave the NCIS team in order to accept that new job in San Francisco — it feels, based on the direction of this past episode, that this is the direction that things are going when it comes to the story at the moment. Yet, we recognize that there is no guarantee of anything and we’ve seen MANY a signature NCIS: Los Angeles fake-out over time where right when you think that the story is going to go in a certain direction, the show finds a way in order to trick you and veer off-course in a totally different way.

So instead of focusing too much on the idea that Eric could be leaving alongside Nell, why not focus instead on the fact that Hetty is back? We’re at least going to have a nice run with her through the end of this season and hopefully, this will lead to her having more of a consistent run in a potential season 1. If you think back to both this season and also season 9, her character hasn’t exactly been TOO present … though there’s an understandable reason for it this time in Linda Hunt’s car accident.
