‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Soctty McCreery, Carrie Underwood

Typically as of late, we have reduced our “American Idol” notes down to a single day; however, there is really so much going on at the moment in the world of the show, it really seems appropriate to stretch it beyond just one edition today.

Adam Lambert’s new lyric video – It’s not very often that we have a lyric video for a song that works the same exact way that we imagine it in our head. This is just such a cool way to promote his new single “Trespassing,” and we’ve grown to love the concept of these videos over the past year as a lead-up to the music videos that tend to come up a little bit later.

Even if you don’t love the song, you should check it out, anyway, just for the car that is featured. If there is a car to rock out to this song, that is it.

Christmas clips from Scotty McCreery – Yes, you are probably not in the mood for Christmas carols just yet. We’re honestly not yet, either. With that being said, “Christmas with Scotty McCreery” is looking to deliver just about everything that you would expect from him: classic country renditions of popular carols.

Nothing in the song preview video below is going to reinvent the wheel by any means, but it’s undeniably both a smart move by Scotty to release this along with a wonderful showcase of his vocal talent. This album hits stores on October 16, which is a little early still to buy a Christmas disc. Thankfully, you can always wait for another month or so.

Kelly to cover Carrie Underwood – Think of this note as a placceholder for now, as Kelly Clarkson has told Carrie Underwood online that she is planning to cover her hit “Blown Away” at her concert tonight. Considering that this song is arguably the best thing that Carrie has ever done, we’re expect to see some great things whenever we get to hear it.
