Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 20 preview: ‘The Good Girl’

Coming up on Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 20 next week, you will have a story entitled “The Good Girl.” What’s coming up throughout the episode? Well, this is a story that could involve pregnancy (ironically, for the second straight week). This time around, though, it’s about a pregnant teenager who is desperate to keep a major secret from Benson and the rest of the team.

04/11/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : Benson (Mariska Hargitay) works to uncover a pregnant teenager’s secret when she refuses to name the baby’s father. Also starring Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Philip Winchester. Guest starring Derek Cecil (Garrett Howard), Eowyn Young (Mackenzie Tolliver), JD Taylor (Quentin Dreyfus), Richard Prioleau (John Woodward) and Pamela Mitchell (Penelope Archer). TV-14 L, V

So why would this young woman refuse to name the father of her baby? She may be trying to protect him from what she feels are unjust charges, something that this person did not actually do. Because they are so young, there is a good chance that they may be extreme naïve and with that, unaware of a possible dark truth hiding somewhere underneath.

We do think that this is going to be one of those stories that’s going to be about conversation just as much as it is investigation. For Olivia Benson, she’s going to have to find a way to get through to this young woman. There are a lot of different tools in her arsenal, whether it be empathy, kindness, or even tough love here and there. She needs to get answers, so maybe that is her final argument to make here: Unless this teenager helps her, she’s never going to go away and there will be so many more questions coming up.

What’s coming up after this episode?

Well, there’s going to be another hiatus — one that lasts for another week. On April 18 there is going to be a repeat of “Caretaker” and then after that, you’ll get the final four episodes of the show starting on April 25.

There isn’t all that much information out there about the final four episodes of the season just yet, but one exciting thing is confirmed already — you are going to be seeing Titus Welliver back as Rob Miller for the final couple of episodes of the season. That’s some bad news for Benson, mostly because he’s going to have a pretty intense vendetta against her. She and Dodds put him away for what he did to Nikki Staines — as they should have — but we know that Miller is a pretty bad guy. He’s dangerous, he pulls strings, and he may cause all sorts of chaos coming up.
