Is Arrow new tonight? ‘Lost Canary’ details + Emily Bett Rickards tribute
Let’s begin this article with the news that Arrow is not on the air tonight, with the biggest reason for that being that The CW is saving the final five episodes for a little bit later in the month. The next new episode (7×18), entitled “Lost Canary,” is coming up on April 15. Over the course of this episode you will have a chance to see the return of Caity Lotz to this show as Sara Lance — she was already done filming Legends of Tomorrow at the time this episode aired, even if that feels a little bit strange given just how many episodes of that show there are still to air.
So how is she going to be back, and why? Let’s just say that it ties back to what’s happening with the Earth-2 version of Laurel Lance, who is losing her way after getting on track and having a redemption story for most of this season.
Below, CarterMatt has the official Arrow season 7 episode 18 synopsis for you with some more details.
BIRDS OF PREY; CAITY LOTZ GUEST STARS – After being accused of murder and having her criminal past exposed, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) goes full Black Siren and teams up with an old criminal acquaintance, Shadow Thief (guest star Carmel Amit), to go on a crime spree around Star City. While Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) aims to bring Laurel in, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to give up on her friend and tries everything to get through to her, even summoning Sara Lance (guest star Caity Lotz) for help. However, Laurel rebuffs all her efforts, forcing the former friends to face off against each other. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Jill Blankenship & Elisa Delson (#718). Original airdate 4/15/2019.
Obviously, any time that the writers can bring together this many Canaries, we’re going to be excited. It’s not exactly something that you get a chance to see all that often.
Stephen Amell tributes Emily Bett Rickards
In a post on Instagram, Stephen commented for the first time in-depth on the exit of his longtime co-star, who will be missing from the eighth and final season. While we presume that it’s possible she turns up for the series finale, it’s best to not pin any specific hopes on that, especially since no one knows yet how she’s leaving the show. The best thing we can hope for is that Felicity has a worthy send-off and that the writers have some sort of plan to address what will be a pretty-enormous void in their show.
