‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Callie, Arizona are far from over

If you were worried for whatever reason that Arizona losing her leg would create an insurmountable amount of tension between her and Callie on “Grey’s Anatomy,” we have something new to say to you: there’s really not so much of a reason to be worried for the couple’s long-term future.

See that wedding photo to the left? They may not get to the same place again that they were at here, but based on what executive producer Shonda Rhimes had to say in a new post on her WhoSay account after Thursday night’s episode, there is still plenty of romance coming up in the months ahead:

“Callie and Arizona are going to have a fun romance-y, sexy love life again. And you are going to see it this season. That’s important to me. I stated in the Writers Room that Arizona could not lose a leg unless we were going to see how a person missing a leg could be sexy and fun and romance-y. So get ready for it – Arizona is gonna get her mojo back in a BIG WAY. And (spoiler alert!) it’s gonna happen before Valentine’s Day.”

During this post Rhimes also poured on the praise for Jessica Capshaw, calling her a “fearless” actress who was excited to take on a story about Callie going from someone who was already looked upon a certain way in the world as a lesbian to someone who now will be looked at yet again for something that makes her different.
