Why is Mozhan Marnò leaving The Blacklist? Actress explains
In a new post on Instagram, the actress confirmed that it was her decision to depart the NBC series after first joining it back in season 2, and it was something that she decided upon this past summer. The producers ultimately decided to grant her request, and wrote a proper ending to the story in which Samar departed the country with the help of Raymond Reddington (James Spader). In making this move rather than running off Aram (Amir Arison), she set up a heartbreaking situation in which the love of her life is going to channel a lot of his anger towards Reddington for helping to do something that took her away from him.
The obvious thing worth noting here is that the producers opted to not kill the Samar character off entirely, which does raise a rather interesting question of its own: Will she return? There may not be any particular plans at the moment, but that’s certainly not something you can rule out forever. Aram does deserve a happy ending, regardless of whether or not she is a part of it, and we just have to wait and see what happens there.

In the immediate future, Aram will have one thing on his mind: Revenge. In the preview, he’s going to try to snatch away some of Reddington’s assets in an event to get more information as to what he’s done. We don’t think this will work out for him; eventually, he’ll just have to accept what’s happened and then try and move on. Samar’s not coming back anytime soon, and we all have to prepare for some of that.
Given how much we came to really love Samar as a character, we’re going to miss Mozhan tremendously; yet, we respect her decision, and you have to wish her nothing but the best as she does her part to move forward.
