The Blacklist season 6 episode 15 preview: Who is Olivia Olson?

Next week, The Blacklist season 6 episode 15 is bringing you “Olivia Olson,” a story that may have more connections to the show’s central narrative. (Yes, we absolutely know that there were some MAJOR diversions tonight.) Within this episode Anna McMahon will factor into the story again in a big way and, beyond that, we’re going to have another title character who could prove to be rather interesting. As a matter of fact, Olson may be a key cog in proving that McMahon is tied to a large conspiracy that Reddington knows more information about than most.

Obviously, unraveling this conspiracy is important, but we’re also left to wonder some other questions. Take, for example, whether or not we’re going to get some more information in regards to Reddington’s true identity. Our theory for the time being is that we’re going to see Ressler be the person who really takes the reigns here and does whatever he can to scrounge up answers, mostly because he’s got the knowledge and the skills to pull this off — knowledge that nobody else really has. It makes sense for him to push hard on this, but it certainly remains to be seen what he finds or if he finds it soon. It may not even be in this episode! Instead, consider it a breadcrumb, something that the writers could choose to save for a little further on down the road.

One way or another, we know that more answers will be coming. Maybe tonight’s episodes were a bit of a breather and a reminder that this show does exist within a larger universe. It’s important sometimes to recognize that not everything can be about the larger conspiracy or Raymond’s identity all the time, though it was pretty startling to jump so far away from them after spending so long firmly in those weeds, trying to make heads or tails of the whole situation.
