Magnum PI episode 20 (finale) spoilers: Hannah returns; who’s in danger?

Next week, Magnum PI episode 20 — otherwise known as the final episode for the season — is set to arrive on CBS. Be prepared for an episode like no other, one where Magnum’s future with Higgins could change, and one where Hannah is going to creep back into the frame one more time with a most unusual request for Thomas Magnum. He’s going to have to work with her, even if she’s the person who previously betrayed him, if he wants to take on the case that’s being presented to him.

Below, CarterMatt has the Magnum PI episode 20 synopsis with some other information when it comes to what’s next:

“The Day It All Came Together” – Hannah (guest star Jordana Brewster), Magnum’s ex and the fugitive responsible for him and his SEAL team brothers being POWs for years, shows up at his home with a gunshot wound, and wanting his help to find her missing CIA father whose life is in danger. Also, Magnum makes an earnest proposition to Higgins for her to become his private investigations partner, on the first season finale of MAGNUM P.I., Monday, April 1 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Brian Austin Green guest stars as Special Agent Adam Kreshner.

We certainly think there’s merit to the idea of Magnum and Higgins having more of a point partnership for season 2, starting of course with the fact that he wouldn’t have to just ask for favors anymore — she’s a part of all of the missions! The larger question here is what the merit is for Higgins beyond the adventure — after all, we’ve learned that Thomas doesn’t exactly make a whole lot of cash for a lot of the various missions that he takes on. Maybe a part of the operation would be Higgins forcing him to try and take on actual, profitable cases.

As for the return of Hannah, there’s probably one word that you can use to describe it more so than any other: Problematic. After all, isn’t every little thing with Hannah that way? You could see Thomas do just about everything that he can to help her, only to then realize over time that doing so may cause further complications. Can you really trust that this is just about helping her father and there isn’t some enormous wrench that’s going to be thrown in halfway through?

As for whether or not there’s going to be a big cliffhanger in the closing minutes, we gotta believe that there could be. This is the sort of show that could easily pull off the sort of stunner that’d leave you desperate to go back to Hawaii sooner rather than later … that’s just not going to happen given that season 2 won’t be premiering until the fall at the earliest.
