‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert’s EP, Kelly Clarkson’s greatest hits

For this edition of “American Idol” notes, we are actually touching on a pair of major releases beginning with some new remixes from Adam Lambert, and ending with a collection of some of Kelly Clarkson’s most-popular songs ever.

We’ll begin first with Adam’s “Trespassing” EP, which comes out in stores on October 16 for fans to purchase. The collection of course includes his latest single off of the album of the same name, as well as multiple mixes of the song by Benny Benassi, Zak Waters, vAnity mAchine along with a radio edit but together by Pharrell, who spent some time with Adam in the studio recording this song to begin with.

As if this was not enough, this EP is also going to feature a version of “Never Close Our Eyes” remixed by R3hab and Mig & Mike Rizzo, his first single from this disc in “Better Than I Know Myself” mixed by Robert Marvin & Shearer, and a Johnny Labs Extended Mix of “Pop That Lock.” If you are a fan of the club scene, many of these names are probably familiar to you already. If not, let’s just say that you should be ready to dance.

As for Kelly’s album, this collection of some of her greatest hits is entitled “Catch My Breath,” which is also the title of a new track that will be included to go alongside everything else.

Kelly made this announcement this week on her official site, where she also explained her decision to really become the first “American Idol” star to have enough achievements to really put this sort of disc out there:

“It’s been a decade now since I won American Idol. Sometimes it feels longer because although it has been exciting that was a lot of pressure to have as a 19 year old girl. To own a company, lead an organization as a business woman, and be able to create music I’m proud of has been tough, but inspiring, for me. To celebrate the strength and longevity that my fans, friends, and family have supported me with I wrote this song ‘Catch my Breath’ with one of my best friends that has seen me through everything. This song represents who I’ve been, what I’ve felt, and where I’m headed as not only an artist but as a 30 year old that is now smart enough to know that it’s time to stop, catch my breath, and be proud of not only what has been accomplished but of all the people that have helped me become the woman I am today. The song will be part of my first ever greatest hits (!!) coming in November. Thank you everyone that has been a part of my career and life. Here’s to another decade of passion and fun! I hope you like the song…its coming next week!”

With this November release, you should probably already go ahead and label this disc as perfection to anyone looking to try to find the perfect gift for an “American Idol” fan for the holiday season.
