Legacies episode 16 (finale) spoilers: ‘There’s Always a Loophole’

Next week, Legacies episode 16 will be coming your way on The CW, and that is important for several different reasons. Most notably, it’s the final one of the season! Ever finale should have the feeling of fireworks, that you’re watching the big send-off to an epic event. You want there to be bright colors, big surprises, and visceral reactions. You want to be remembering it, talking about it, and then pleading for more in the weeks that follow. Otherwise, you’re doing it wrong! This is the culmination of everything; it’s where you pull out all of the stops, especially since the writers probably didn’t know at the time of it being written if the show was even coming back.

The title for this hour is curious: “There’s Always a Loophole.” What does that mean? Well, we take it as a suggestion that there’s going to be a twist somewhere in here — one that you don’t ever see coming. It may just be a way for some of these characters to get out of an especially sticky situation … one where there are some lives in serious jeopardy.

Want a few more details? Below, CarterMatt does have the official Legacies episode 16 synopsis with some more news on what’s ahead:

IT’S HERO TIME – When a group of unwelcome visitors descends upon The Salvatore School, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) leads the charge to keep her friends safe. Meanwhile, MG (Quincy Fouse) uncovers a secret about his mother and Josie (Kaylee Bryant) finds herself in a dire situation. Matthew Davis, Jenny Boyd and Peyton Alex Smith also star. Mary Lou Bellucci directed the episode written by Brett Matthews (#116). Original airdate 3/28/2019.

So there you have it — an episode about secrets, one about MORE chaos at the Salvatore School, and also a great chance for Hope to show just how much she’s learned. If there’s one person well-equipped to handle danger that is coming on all fronts, isn’t it the daughter of Klaus? He’s the master of starting chaos, and her mother was certainly good at putting out some of those fires. She’s a leader and a powerhouse, even if she doesn’t fully realize it or have a full grasp just yet. We know that these characters are, theoretically, getting an education … but then there’s also an education within that education.

Do you know of How to Make Friends and Alienate People? Really, Legacies could be entitled How to Make Friends and Eliminate People … or Creatures. Maybe that’s a little long, but we do think that’s a good summary of precisely the story that we’re getting. The MG story feels a little bit like a setup for the show’s second season while Josie’s crisis feels like it could be a cliffhanger. The second season will probably be coming your way in the fall. Brace yourself for a lot of frustration, speculation, and so much more for the better part of six-plus months.
