‘Elementary’ spoilers: ‘Necessary Roughness’ star Callie Thorne checks in

While “Necessary Roughness” is currently in the off-season, it appears as though Callie Thorne has found some other ways to fill up her schedule. So where is she heading now? Her fictional setting will still be New York, but this time around she is going to be dealing with a fictional Sherlock Holmes rather than the Hawks.

According to a report from TVLine, the Golden Globe-nominated actress Thorne will be guest-starring on an upcoming episode of the hit CBS series “Elementary,” where she is going to play the former partner of Aidan Quinn’s Captain Gregson, with the twist here being that the two may have accidentally imprisoned the wrong man years ago. In using our own Holmes-like powers of deduction, we have a feeling that something in the past could bring these two characters together, and Holmes may be able to find a way to link what is happening in the modern day with what happened years ago.

While we are thinking about this for the time being as a temporary detail for Thorne away from “Necessary Roughness,” in reality the status of the series is still very much up in the air. USA has already renewed some of their own shows in “White Collar,” “Royal Pains,” and “Covert Affairs.” Even though Thorne’s series posted solid ratings this summer, it was still not up to the same level as some of the monsters mentioned above. Hopefully, we will find out something more here in the months ahead, but for now we’re just happy to have the show’s leading lady back on our TV screens for a while longer.
