The Good Doctor season 2 episode 18 (finale) spoilers: Shaun gets injured

Good Doctor season 2 episode 4

Next week, The Good Doctor season 2 episode 18 is going to be delivering you the biggest episode of the season. It’s the finale, it’s where the biggest events of the season could happen, and it’s also going to throw Dr. Shaun Murphy into a great deal of pain.

We have certainly seen stories on medical dramas before where one of the doctors becomes the patient — that is fairly commonplace. Yet, Shaun Murphy is no ordinary doctor. He doesn’t process and feel things the same exact way. If something happens to him to put his life in jeopardy, he’s going to reaction and feel differently about it. He could start to shut down, and it could be impossible for anyone to get through to him. This entire situation could be the biggest test of him as both a doctor and a person. Sometimes, the hardest struggle is of course the struggle to be able to actually let go.

Of course, what also adds to this at the moment is the idea that Shaun may not even have a job at the hospital after everything that happened with Dr. Han.

So what else is coming across this epic finale event? Then we suggest checking out the official The Good Doctor season 2 episode 18 synopsis below:

As a barroom fight sends Dr. Shaun Murphy to seek treatment at St. Bonaventure’s, Dr. Alex Park and Dr. Audrey Lim disagree over an elderly woman’s post-operative symptoms. Meanwhile, Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Lim make their romance public, and Dr. Aaron Glassman continues to pursue a relationship with a good friend.

It feels fairly obvious at the moment that Shaun’s story will take center stage in this episode, but there is some other important stuff going on here! For example, Dr. Melendez and Dr. Lim revealing their relationship to those in power is a big move, and one that they know will have ramifications. It exposes them to more judgment, and will cause people to perceive them differently even if it’s not intentional. Will the two be able to think clearly when they work along someone they care about? We think so, but everyone else is going to make their own judgments and conclusions.

As for what’s going on for Dr. Glassman, there is one thing we know that we want more than anything else — happiness. This guy really needs it perhaps more than anyone. He’s been through so much with his health and while we don’t think he needs love, we do feel like with the right person, it could enrich his life. It’s been a fun journey to watch as of late, so let’s see if there is any big movement that does come over the finale. Who knows? It could be a cliffhanger moving into season 3!
