Bosch season 5 trailer, premiere date: Titus Welliver goes undercover
This morning, the streaming service confirmed that on Friday, April 19, you’re going to have a chance to see the show back in all it’s glory with all of its season 5 episodes — and with what could be one of the most dangerous cases for Bosch yet. The center of the show’s appeal tends to be putting Harry Bosch in precarious positions and watching him time and time again find a different way to bring the bad guys to justice, but it’s a little different when you’re having him go undercover in order to figure out the truth with a dangerous drug operation. It’s also a situation in which he’s going to have to rely on some of his wiles — after all, he’s going to be surrounded by people much younger than him and people who are comfortable living life on the edge. He’s gotta be alert, he’s gotta be smart, and he’s gonna have to use that cane that doubles as a serious weapon. Seriously so James Bond and we are here for it!!!
Just in case this wasn’t enough for you to be excited about, you also should know this: There’s also going to be a cold case that rises to the surface this season, something that will present a challenge for Bosch in sifting far into his past. How will he choose to deal with that? Consider this one of the many challenges he will face, beyond of course the ones we’ve spelled out and the typical ones that come within his personal and professional lives. Bosch isn’t ever a guy who has it all together, but somehow, he finds a way to figure it out. He’s basically the human version of those cat-pun posters telling people to hang in there. Everyone is worried about him (and understandably so, we might add), but he still finds a way to get to the other side.
Perhaps the coolest thing of all entering season 5, though, is knowing that it’s not the end — a season 6 was already greenlit by Amazon (easily our favorite streaming service at the moment), which shows that they are committed to this show and also thinking pretty far ahead. They recognize the value in keeping Bosch around as long as humanly possible and how beneficial it could be to them in the long-term to give the viewers some peace. Also, this means that Bosch probably doesn’t have something unspeakably awful happen to him in season 5, i.e. something he couldn’t recover from.
Now, the challenge is yours, dear reader — after all, you gotta find a way to make it to April! Here’s to hoping that the month of March blows by rather quickly…
