Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Sansa Stark will have armor

Sansa

Are we going to see Sansa Stark on the front lines of battle over the course of Game of Thrones season 8? Anything is possible with how much this character has grown and stepped up into a leadership role over the years. Also, it does seem like the production team is looking to prepare Sansa for battle! She will have a set of armor moving forward — it’s not heavy plate armor (think more of the leather variety), but very much armor nonetheless. That does make a certain degree of sense, given that on this upcoming season everyone is going to have to be prepared for battle in some shape or form.

Speaking via Entertainment Weekly, here is some of what Sophie Turner had to say about the new change for the character:

“We the idea of it being very protective and she buttons herself up … I wanted her to have a bit of armor and be a bit more warrior like. She’s like the warrior of Winterfell.”

HBO has yet to release a photo of Turner sporting Sansa’s new look — the image above is one of the only ones revealed of the character for the upcoming season. It shouldn’t be a shock to really anyone at the moment, but the writers are being as secretive as humanly possible when it comes to fully showcasing some of the larger stories. That makes sense for so many reasons. They want people to be surprised by the story, and they want to have big moments that will get people talking and keep people hyped up through out the season. They also want to ensure viewers subscribe to the network in order to know what’s going on.

There’s also another, unrelated and totally bizarre business angle to all of this — there are actually people out there taking bets on who will end up on the Iron Throne at the end of all this.

Game of Thrones season 8 will officially premiere on HBO this April, and we imagine that before too long, we’re going to get some form of a trailer. The final season is closing in and we don’t really have any new footage. While we get that keeping this season as secret as possible is good for business, not hyping this up with a trailer is bad for business.
