America’s Got Talent: The Champions finale: Is Darci Lynne, Shin Lim, or Susan Boyle winner?

Let’s start off this article with the following reminder that entering the finale, we thought there was a top tier of six acts: Darci, Shin, Susan, Kseniya Simonova, Angelica Hale, and Preacher Lawson. It was hard to really picture anyone else as a serious threat to win based on the performance that we’ve seen and the competition of certain categories. For example, there are so many singers at the moment within the competition and because of that, some are going to be left behind to a certain degree.
The first thing that we can say before even getting to some of the final results of the season is simply that this show was LONG. Really long. There was a ton of filler in here.
Your top five
The results were revealed: Shin Lim, Kseniya Simonova, Preacher Lawson, Darci Lynne, and Cristina Ramos were the top five! We don’t think we would’ve had Cristina over either Angelica or Susan; as a matter of fact, we’d probably put a number of contestants through to the top five over Cristina, who we’ve felt has been rather polarizing for a good percentage of the season.
Of this group, we do think that Darci and Shin are probably the two strongest acts when you think about the total package.
Who is the winner?
It’s … Shin Lim! He found a way to climb to the top of the pyramid after winning season 13, and also turning around and filming this very shortly after the fact! This was a really impressive win for him and we definitely think there’s going to be a great career for him in the weeks and months to come. Do we think that other people had some other hopes for the winner? Sure, but at the same time we’re thrilled for Shin. He is one of the great magicians who we’ve ever seen, bar none.
