Following tonight’s finale, what could the Manifest season 2 premiere date be? That’s something we’re going to dive into further in this article!
Let’s, of course, start things off here with another reminder that, at least for now, there is no official renewal for a season 2. Yet, it’s believed to be a foregone conclusion. While the ratings for the series have declined from the premiere, we are still talking about one of NBC’s big-ticket shows and one that has generated a lot of DVR and social traffic for them. It’s one that could also build an audience over the next few months thanks in part to streamers. Don’t you think that this show has tremendous binge-watching potential? To us, it feels almost like a lock that there are going to be a lot of people checking it out in this way.
Odds are, NBC will confirm a season 2 renewal over the next month or so; while they technically have until May to give another season a green light, we don’t really think that there’s all that much of an incentive for them to wait that long to make something happen. An early renewal inspires confidence and helps to make people all the more excited in what’s going to be coming up next.
As for what the Manifest season 2 premiere date will more than likely be, we’re inclined to think the last week in September. We don’t see any reason for NBC to move the series out of the fall for now, though it’s also possible that they shift it to a different timeslot in order to try to give another new series a significant bump courtesy of The Voice. This is, after all, something that they’ve done with a number of shows over the years — in between Blindspot, Manifest, and The Blacklist, there are three shows on the air (four if you count Good Girls) who have benefited from airing after the singing show at one point during their run.
Expect a confirmation on Manifest’s season 2 timeslot at some point in May, provided that NBC doesn’t go completely nuts and cancel the show. A specific premiere date will probably be made clear over the summer, so you do have a while to wait to get that. Given that there are no Olympics this summer, we don’t think the network is going to do anything too crazy with their scheduling or shift premiere dates to a very different time that you wouldn’t expect.
Fingers crossed that the renewal comes in as expected, and beyond this, that we get an excellent season 2 from start to finish.
