What we should note here, first and foremost, is that the competition portion of the program is over. The contestants are being judged on what we saw last week, and this is more just a celebration of some really great talent. We’ve already shared a performance from returning act The Clairvoyants, and the new video below features three different acts from the season working together in Deadly Games, Brian Justin Crum, and Cristina Ramos. Cristina and Brian are doing a performance of the classic “The Show Must Go On” by Queen while Deadly Games do another dangerous knife-throwing act that also includes a few different stunts with the whip, as well. (For those who want to be reminded of how diverse Deadly Games is as an act, just this season they have done archery, knife-throwing, and now also whip-work. That’s a lot for just a handful of performances!)

As great as this performance is, we think that all three acts are longshots to win the title. Right now we’d argue that Susan Boyle, Darci Lynne, Shin Lim, and Angelica Hale are pretty high up on the ladder, though we also feel like Kseniya Simonova is fairly far up there, as well. While we’ve had our criticisms of the way in which the judging and competition have worked this season, we are still grateful that it’s here. This show’s been a great opportunity to see some of our favorite acts over the years, and it’s also another reminder that this show has gotten progressively better over time bringing back some former acts and making it more of a family rather than just a group of acts who disappear into the ether after a given performance.

We don’t necessarily know precisely what the future is going to hold for this particular version of the franchise (can you really do another Champions after this current season), but we’re very much excited to find out.
