The Masked Singer season 2: What we know to date

What do we know at the moment in regards to The Masked Singer season 2? We know that it’s official, so now feels like the right time to dive into that. Fox has made a few details know, and while there’s more that will certainly be revealed before long, consider this article a base resource.

There’s already a lot of casting interest – Apparently, there are more celebrities already interested in doing the show than there was in season 1. That makes some sense, given that this series is delivering huge ratings and it’s a chance for artists to showcase a hidden talent, while also generating some popularity for themselves in a different way than they’re used to. This is such a fun show that there is really no downside to doing it.

There will be some added security – Keeping the secret of these superstars is the biggest challenge season 2 faces; now that we know the show is successful, it’s going to be harder than ever for the producers to keep these identities a secret. We do hope that they’re able to, though, at least until the show airs.

There will be new costumes – Don’t expect recycled versions of the Monster, the Alien, or anyone else that we’ve seen in season 1. A part of the fun of The Masked Singer is that it allows the team to exercise creativity, and we’re sure that there are already some ideas that are being pondered behind the scenes.

There’s no official return date just yet – Fox has a lot of flexibility here. If they really wanted, they could probably do another season of The Masked Singer for this summer. It really comes down to whether or not they think the format will work having it on the air that often. Dancing with the Stars has effectively done two cycles a year in the past, but a part of what makes other shows (see America’s Got Talent, at least before this year with Champions) is that it is an annual event. We personally do think Fox isn’t going to wait that long, just because they’ve got lightning in a bottle right now.
