‘American Idol’ season 12: Did a Nicki Minaj – Mariah Carey fight happen?

It’s not often that we hear big stories come from the taping of the “American Idol” audition rounds, mostly because producers typically like to keep the contestants who are trying out under wraps.

However, we do have a pretty shocking headline coming in how, and it is all about the judges. In a new video that was first posted by TMZ, you can hear Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj really going at each other in a heated argument. We’re not sure what exactly caused it (maybe it was an audition they disagreed  on?), but we do know that the end result led to the “Starships” rapper going on a tirade that included all sorts of cursing along with the following quote:

“I told them, I’m not f—n’ putting up with her f—-n’ highness over there.”

Before these two superstars were even cast as judges for the new season, there was all sorts of conversation about whether or not Mariah and Nicki would get along on the panel, but the two denied having an problems with each other. As a matter of fact, Carey joked during the opening press conference last month that there was not enough time for the two parties to really get into a feud.

The website also reports that later on, Nicki threatened to “knock [Mariah] out,” and MouthToEars.com claims that the producers (who are somewhat concerned now that this panel will last the season) decided to stop the auditions, which were taking place in Charlotte, for the day.

What do you think about this confrontation, and do you think that “American Idol” could really be in some trouble moving forward?
