Agents of SHIELD season 6 premiere date coming in May 2019
Today, the series posted a new video in honor of Valentine’s Day on social media, and at the end of it, you can see that the series is now coming on the air in May 2019 — a little bit earlier than we first expected! We’d heard for months that the plan was that the show would return in the summer. While we didn’t necessarily take that literally to mean that we’d be seeing the show come late June, it was hard to imagine in arriving before June 1.
Consider this one of those times in which we’re happy to be proven wrong.
To date, ABC is keeping most of their cards close to the vest when it comes to Agents of SHIELD season 6, though we know that the series is going to be featuring Clark Gregg in a different role following what happened to Coulson at the end of season 5. Meanwhile, prepare for Mack to be the new Director and for there to be a central story that is different than any that we’ve seen before.
As for where the show falls within the timeline, we’re assuming that it is going to be coming up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, though it remains to be seen just how much that movie is actually addressed over the course of the show. We certainly think that there will be at least a few references, though, and it probably benefits you if you are a Marvel superfan to go see Endgame before you end up watching season 6. We don’t think personally that Agents of SHIELD will launch until the middle of the month, so there could be a little bit of time in order to check it out.
Of course, we’ll have more news on a possible premiere date as it comes out; more so than anything else, we’re just crossing our fingers and hoping for a great season from start to finish. We want action, but also emotional moments to get to know even more about some of these characters! We know them so well already, but it does still feel like there is more to tell.
