Law & Order: SVU season 20: Ice-T open to Jennifer Esposito return
Based on what Ice tells TVInsider in a new interview promoting tonight’s episode, there is a chance that things could get romantic between the two again in the present, and it’s also possible that she could come back for another episode down the road:
Anything can happen. She doesn’t die. Of course, in the Wolf Films world, you can come back as another character, like Peter Scanavino and Kelli Giddish have. As for me, I’ve appeared on five Wolf television shows!
Technically, Esposito has already appeared on Law & Order: SVU in a different role many years ago, and she’s also played different roles on the flagship Law & Order. Why does this happen? It’s largely a consequence of these shows lasting as long as they do. It’s pretty inevitable that you are going to see actors take on multiple roles just because of the fact that producers obviously want great actors, and they don’t want to rule someone out from appearing just because they were on an episode more than a decade beforehand. Performers evolve and with that, there’s certainly more of an incentive to get people back in some shape or form.
Of course, we think that SVU will be coming back for a season 21 — if we don’t see Jennifer again this season, there’s a chance to revisit her story down the road. There’s no reason for the series to write that off as a possibility when they haven’t even gotten to the point of writing some of those episodes just yet. The biggest thing that we’ve got hope for is that the writers are just going to tell stories that let us know more of Fin’s heart. They recognize that the cases are important, but we also keep watching because we care about some of the people.
What do you think about Jennifer Esposito appearing on SVU tonight as a possible Fin love interest, and are you excited to dive more into this character’s personal life? Be sure to share right now in the comments. (Photo: NBC.)
