America’s Got Talent: The Champions: Terry Fator, Grace VanderWaal, more omissions

America's Got Talent: The Champions

We’ve seen a number of great America’s Got Talent contestants throughout America’s Got Talent: The Championsbut who were the people left behind? Who would we want to see in the future if NBC does do something else with this property?

Over the course of this article, we’re going to discuss ten former acts who could’ve or should’ve appeared on this current season — note that some of them were for sure asked, and for others, the reason for their lack of participation is obvious. We’re talking here about a perfect-world scenario in which any act from the past could have appeared.

The Passing Zone – They’ve appeared on two different seasons! We wanted to see more contestants from earlier seasons on the show and these guys are comedic jugglers — they are actually a unique act and there aren’t too many of those out there in the world.

Terry Fator – It’s a no-brainer, given that he is the show’s biggest winner and one of the most successful reality TV champions of all time. He may have just been too busy with his Las Vegas show to take part.

Lindsey Stirling – The famed violinist (who became a star on the web after the show) declined an invite to take part in the show — at this point, it’s clear that she doesn’t need it.

William Close – The musician, known for his incredible Earth Harp, would’ve added to the uniqueness of this season. Yet, we know that he’s on another talent competition in The World’s Best over on CBS.

Mat Franco – Another enormously successful act in Las Vegas, and that may be the big reason why he was not a part of this show. We certainly think that he could’ve done well.

Grace VanderWaal – One of the more memorable singers to previously have won the show. We know that she has been a little more active in acting as of late, and that may be one of the reasons why she did not take part.

David Garibaldi and His CMYK’s – A bit of a forgotten act, especially since it was one of the cooler ones. They told stories with art within a very small window of time, and they were often big, colorful, and interesting.

Chase Goehring – One of the better singer-songwriters that we’ve seen over the years. He has a big following online, so it does still remain a shock to us that he wasn’t a part of the cast.

Zurcaroh – Out of all of the acts from last season, we’re most surprised that they weren’t a part of Champions. It’s possible that it may have just been too soon for them after the flagship season and they would’ve needed more time.

Melissa Villasenor – Obviously, she’s on Saturday Night Live now and there’s virtually zero reasons why she needed to take part — she’s a little like Stirling in that AGT really isn’t the thing that made her famous. Her own work ethic is.
