Daneliya, nicknamed “The Vocal Wonder” on the show, is on the show just one week after we had a chance to see Dimash Kudaibergen rock the stage and the judges. She has a lot of vocal control despite being only twelve years old, and she manages to blow the judges seeing the powerful song “Rise Up” — not the easiest song in the world to do!
Yet, we think that she’s got a good chance to move forward in this competition and last for a really long time. The most important thing about her is that she understands artistry, which is admittedly not the easiest thing in the world for any singer to do. It’s one thing to come out and just sing the song; it’s another altogether to show that you’re connected with it and make people care. This is what she did at the end of the performance, and that is precisely why she’s got a good chance as we move forward. She made Drew Barrymore tear up, and that’s before she even had a chance to see the perfect score she was given from her! (She didn’t get perfect scores from all of the judges, but with an average of 47 it was pretty clear that they liked what they heard.)
As for some of the votes from the Wall of the World, she got more than enough in order to ensure she pressed onward. Only one person in that wall decided that she didn’t want to give her that stamp of approval. (Of course, James Corden called out one person from Canada who didn’t give her that vote, saying that technically, there was a little bit more room for her to grow and she wasn’t quite there just yet.)
