‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Is Regina about to see a ghost?

Are you ready for a greater touch of the supernatural on “Once Upon a Time” this coming season? Let’s hope so, since the episode that is coming up right before Halloween is almost certain going to give a few people the creeps based on a certain something that are token villain starts to see.

We have known for a little while now that this fifth episode is going to be entitled “The Doctor” and will focus quite a bit on David Anders’ character of Dr. Whale and whatever his fairy tale counterpart turns out to be; however, what is a bit more of a mystery at this moment is just what exactly he wants with Regina, and why he is absent from the official synopsis for the episode that was just released via SpoilerTV:

“As Regina tries to refrain from using her magic in order to regain Henry’s trust, she starts seeing a ghost from her past; Mary Margaret and Emma find a survivor from an Ogre massacre; Regina struggles to learn the dark arts.”

Really, it is rather interesting in that this description seems contradictory when it comes to Lana Parrilla’s character. On one side of the coin, she appears to be interested in giving up her use of magic in order to continue drawing Henry closer to her. With that in mind, it’s possible that she is going to be taking much of her practice of it underground for at least the time being, though you would think someone who has earned the moniker of the “Evil Queen” would already have a pretty good grasp on the “dark arts” already. (Then again, isn’t there always something that you can learn a little bit more about?)
