Let’s start, of course, with this: There’s no new episode coming next week, or for the remainder of the month. Tonight’s “Cause and XS” is kicking off a hiatus that will last until Tuesday, March 5, when the show returns with the latest batch of episodes on The CW. We’re anticipating a lot of high-octane drama when the show comes back, especially because of what the stakes are at the moment. We still have Cicada to think about as a Big Bad and then beyond that, everything that is happening with Noah and Eobard Thawne. There are so many different things that the show is currently balancing and you do have to wonder just what the resolutions to some of these conflicts will eventually be?
There are no official details that are out there on any upcoming episodes just yet, but we’re expecting an even more determined version of The Flash than ever before just because of what he’s fighting for. It’s not just about Barry or Iris anymore; it’s about the future generation and working to make the world better for people like Nora. It’s also about finding a way to alter the timeline so that Nora can have a little bit more happiness and a better relationship with her mother.
The good news is that we know already that the timeline is changing — after all, the Central City Citizen was spawned a little bit early by Iris! Because of this, it appears as though Barry is disappearing in “Crisis” a little bit earlier than expected, which of course also makes you wonder if we could be seeing a situation in which Nora is even born at all. The timeline is being messed with, and the end result of that could prove to be rather severe. (Crisis on Infinite Earths is something we know is coming this fall.)
