‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: A focus on the fun with April, Jackson

There is a great deal of romance coming up on this season of “Grey’s Anatomy,” but it also looks as though there is going to be some humor and fun mixed in there to offset the drama. We saw some of this in the season premiere courtesy of Meredith and Derek, and it looks as though it is going to be April and Jackson who manage to take on the reigns next.

So how is the storyline going to progress for these two once April returns to Seattle Grace next week? Speaking out as a part of an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sarah Drew had the following to say about her character:

“I think the audience will find it fun and charming and raw and real … She’s going to still have her freak-outs and meltdowns because that is who she is, but she also is the type who picks herself up and carries on and tries again. She’s going to embrace her religion in a way that she hasn’t before and that is going to be hard and confusing for Jackson who does not share the same system of belief,”

Religion has been addressed in some ways with this couple already, but mostly just in the context of April giving up her virginity to him right before the board exams happened. Now that there is this sort of bond between them that can never be replicated, it is going to be a little bit different seeing how Jackson manages to be there for her; that is, if he can handle the religious talk and some of the other endearing (and at times difficult) quirks enough to stay a permanent fixture by her side.
