Lucifer season 4: What’s happening behind the scenes now?

Lucifer

For anyone out there wanting a new behind-the-scenes update on Lucifer season 4, the first thing that you should know is simply this: There is still work being done. While the producers, cast, and crew have wrapped filming on the upcoming season (premiering this spring, based on all estimations), there are some post-production things that need attending to.

In a new post on Instagram, Outlander alum Graham McTavish (who is one of the new additions for this season) confirmed that he recently did some ADR work for the show. For those unfamiliar with the industry term, ADR work is when actors go back and record (or re-record) lines for the upcoming season. Sometimes, this is used for lines spoken by a character who is off-screen at the time. Other times, there may have been issues with the sound. The basic summation of it is that this is the way in which a show ensures that everyone is as crisp and easy to understand as possible, and that no lines are left behind. It’s a good chance to perfect things for the sake of the season as a whole.

ADR work doesn’t take nearly as long as filming, largely because you can really just have the actor state the same line or two in a wide array of ways rather quickly.

Who is McTavish playing?

For those who may not remember, Graham has a very important role in the upcoming season in Father Kinley, someone who is both very devout in his beliefs and intent on stopping his own idea of evil within the world. As for what that looks like, that’s something that we’ll have to wait and see within this show. What we are confident about is that Graham is a magnetic actor and this series is very lucky to have him — he will bring things to this role that many other performers could only dream of! If you want to see another recent example of his work beyond Outlander, we highly recommend that you check him out in Preacher.
