Do you want to know more of what’s coming on The Good Doctor season 2 episode 15? Well, let’s start with this super-sad reminder: We’re not going to have Freddie Highmore and the rest of the cast back on the air for a little while. The next new episode is going to air on February 18, but we do think that it’s worth waiting for.

The main event leading up to this episode is the introduction of Daniel Dae Kim as Dr. Jackson Han, who seems to be following the recent Good Doctor tradition of being the new character who enters the world of the show and we don’t want to immediately root for him. Why is it in this case? Well, this is someone who seems ready and/or willing to kick Shaun Murphy to the curb, largely because of something that happens on the job. We know that Shaun is brilliant at what he does as a doctor, especially in surgery; yet, his bedside manner leaves something to be desired and due to being autistic, there are some things he struggles with. We’re not sure just how patient Dr. Han (who is the new Chief of Surgery) will be.
The hope here is that over time, if he has time, Shaun will prove his worth to Dr. Han and then some. There’s a reason why the other doctors at the St. Bonaventure Hospital are willing to stand by him and support him — they know what he’s capable of! He does certainly have his struggles, but doesn’t everyone? Not all of these people were originally on his side, but many of them have come around over time.
Just in case seeing the former Hawaii Five-0 / Lost star Kim on the show wasn’t enough reason to be excitement, know this — Freddie Highmore is also directing this episode! This is a chance to see him show off yet another skill that he has in his arsenal. We don’t think he needed to do this in order to tell people that he is one of the most multi-faceted talents in television, but it certainly doesn’t hurt, does it?
One thing that is great to know is that no matter what happens in this episode or the ones that follow, there’s already a season 3 renewal! The show’s long-term future is pretty secure.
