Criminal Minds season 15 spoilers: Jane Lynch returning

In a new post on Twitter, Jane Lynch confirmed that she will be making at least one more appearance as Reid’s mother within the final ten episodes of the show. Over the years, the Glee alum has turned in some of the best work of her career in the role of Diana, who has early onset Alzheimer’s; Spencer has worked over time in order to provide the best life for her possible and together they have given us some of our favorite moments on the show.
While the circumstances surrounding Lynch’s return for the final season remain unclear, we’re sure that for some people out there, it will just be nice to have her back on the show in some capacity. It’s also going to be nice to just have some sort of proper Reid spotlight story since there weren’t many of them throughout season 14, which was otherwise a season where a lot of other major characters had some time in the spotlight. We know that there is some great Reid stuff coming in the finale, as the promo that is out there shows him and JJ in danger, so we are thankful for that. While we’ve certainly seen many BAU agents in danger over the year, this is the season finale and with that you have to think that the show is going to bigger with their story.
The final season of Criminal Minds has no specific premiere date just yet, but new episodes are going to be filming throughout the upcoming weeks and months. It’s already been revealed that the show is opting for a more serialized approach, one featuring somewhat of a more-centralized Big Bad. We’re hoping that somewhere along the way, there are also going to be opportunities to get personal updates on a few other major characters.
