Criminal Minds season 14 finale video: Reid, JJ in danger

Well, the promo below for this big episode (entitled “Truth or Dare”) makes it clear that both JJ and Reid are going to find themselves at gunpoint — in some ways, it feels like Spencer perpetually has his life on the line in this sort of super-dramatic way. He was there at the end of this past season, and it certainly does feel like he is in a similar spot now.
So what’s going to happen between the two characters? Judging from this promo alone, it seems as though the only way for JJ to get out of this situation is to admit to some sort of secret, something that she’s never told anyone before. Is there anything that we don’t know about this character? That’s a good question and certainly, something that the show will have to try to answer — it’s difficult, mostly because it does feel like we’ve come to know so much about her and Reid both over the course of the series.
Yet, a big part of the drama for this episode will be surprising us with this, and then also seeing some sort of epic case go down while Rossi tries to prepare for his wedding. We do imagine that there will be a few happy moments across the finale, but they will more than likely be interspersed with some other super-dramatic stuff. This is the way that Criminal Minds does it anytime that we do get some personal stuff thrown into a given case!
While this promo may not give you a whole lot other than Reid/JJ, it really doesn’t need to in order to get your hair standing on end. That is a part of the strength of this show — they can elicit a super-strong emotional reaction out of you in just a matter of seconds.
