Hanna trailer airs during Super Bowl; episode 1 available early

Hanna

Coming next month on Amazon, you’re going to get a chance to see an ambitious action series like no other in Hanna. This is an adaptation of the 2011 film of the same name, and we already know that it’s got a lot of potential. Just look for a moment at its cast, which includes the likes of Esme Creed-Miles, Joel Kinnaman, and Mireille Enos. (The latter actors starred on The Killing, so this is a little bit of a reunion for them.)

The trailer below aired during the Super Bowl, and we think that it definitely did a good job of selling the show and some of what it could bring to the table. Amazon has found some good fortune from advertising during the big game — they did this last year with an action property, and clearly, they are hoping to get some attention for Hanna here.

One interesting thing to remember if you want to watch the show now is simply this — the first episode is already available! That’s going to make checking it out even easier for Amazon users. Of course, you better do it fast — it’ll only be available for 24 hours. That’s an interesting move since we don’t know how many people are going to be around to watch TV in the next day or so.

Could this be a huge hit for the streaming provider? It’s certainly possible. Clearly, Amazon is expecting a lot of it. Super Bowl commercials don’t come cheap but this series fits right into the pocket for what they’ve been wanting — big, action-packed shows that bring a lot of intense stuff to the table. They want to do everything that they can to appeal to a large audience.

Of course, we’re going to have to wait and see precisely if Hanna turns out to be a big success, but tonight, the show certainly did set a nice foundation for itself by getting itself out there.

What did you think about the trailer for Hanna, and are you hoping to watch it on Amazon? Be sure to share now in the comments. Of course, we’ll have some more news coming up in the near future. (Photo: Amazon.)
