Is Madam Secretary new tonight? A look at ‘Something Better’
The unfortunate news is that there’s not a new episode of the show tonight — not that this is going to be all that much of a shock to anyone. We’re talking here about Super Bowl Sunday! There are so many different shows that are preempted tonight for the big game, and because it’s airing on CBS this time around, there’s no way that the show could really air in its normal timeslot tonight even in the event that the network wanted it. Consider this to be a rather atypical night for TV.
The super-unfortunate news that we have at the moment is that there isn’t a new episode of Madam Secretary next week, with the big reason for that being that the Grammys are going to be broadcast on CBS February 10. The show will return for a one-week engagement on February 17 and then go off the air again on February 24 because of the Oscars airing over on ABC. As you can tell, this is a rather-competitive month of TV in general with a lot of special programming across the board. There will be plenty of time moving forward to air a lot of new episodes during the months of March and April. Here’s to hoping that there are going to be some chances for the show to build up a little bit of momentum in there. We want to see it back for another season — after all, don’t you want to see Elizabeth have a chance to further her run at the Presidency?

“Something Better” – When a group of American missionaries become hostages during a violent uprising abroad, Dalton must confront demons from his past in order to help Elizabeth secure their safe return home. Also, Stevie takes over Russell’s social media presence, and Henry helps his niece, Sarah (Emelyn Daly), mentally prepare for her military deployment, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Feb. 17 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
