The Masked Singer: Where is the Monster, the Peacock?

The Masked SingerTonight, The Masked Singer brought back four more performers — but where is the Monster or the Peacock? Why didn’t we get them tonight?

The reason that we were even expecting the Monster and the Peacock on the show tonight is that to date on the series, we had a chance to see a relatively similar pattern of people coming on the show to perform. We had the Monster, the Peacock, the Unicorn, and the Lion on the same shows together, but tonight, the Rabbit and the Alien were on instead.

Rest assured, though — the Monster and the Peacock are both going to be back on the show before too long. These two will be on the show next week alongside the Bee and then also the Raven. It’s hard to guess why the show wanted to mix things up other than to give a little bit more variety across the board. (One of our guesses is that they want to ensure that there is excitement for every show, and our feeling is that the first group was a little front-loaded in comparison to the other.)

For Fox, we just figure that they’re super-pleased about the fact that there are so many different people who are watching The Masked Singer in the first place, given the fact that this show was a total gamble going into the year. It’s now been renewed officially for a season 2 and we personally do believe that it’s going to have a rather long life moving forward, provided of course that the network finds a way to handle it correctly. That means, of course, giving it some of the promotion it deserves and finding a way to improve the format a little bit.

Just in case anyone was wondering, though, the Monster remains our favorite contestant on the show this year — there’s something about both the costume and also the voice that mesh really well and make a legitimate play for our heartstrings every single time.
