Is SEAL Team new tonight on CBS? What we’re hoping for
Unfortunately, that’s not happening — at least in the immediate future. There is no new episode tonight; as a matter of fact, there isn’t another one coming until Wednesday, March 13. That is a super-long period of time to wait, and we’re going to have to replay the powerful Sonny-focused story in our head until we get back around to that point.
So why the long break? CBS’ scheduling has a lot to do with it. Strangely, they could have aired a new episode tonight if they really wanted to, but apparently, they’ve opted to take a little bit of a break instead. If there is a silver lining to the long SEAL Team hiatus, it’s this: It allows them a chance to tell stories almost straight through when the show returns in March. That means that there will be fewer breaks later, and that could be useful in order to ensure that there is a significant amount of momentum moving forward to the end of the season.
One thing that is also worth remembering here is the timeslot — when SEAL Team does return, it will be at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time — an hour later than usual. Keep that in mind, and be sure to set your schedules up accordingly. The later timeslot will probably be frustrating to some, but this could end up being a permanent change in the event the show is renewed. CBS may feel like there are other shows that can capture more of the Survivor lead-in, as this is something that SEAL Team has struggled with at times the past year or so.
When will CBS release the next promo?
Most likely in late February or early March. They don’t tend to release too much video information on upcoming episodes until close to when the episode airs. Our hope is that maybe around the middle of next month, more information will surface on the spring premiere. Obviously, we’re hoping for a lot of action, but also an opportunity for Sonny to recover a little bit from some of what’s unfolded. You don’t need to throw him back into the fire so soon after he was just in the metaphorical frying pan.
