Blue Bloods season 9 photo: Another look at Danny, Jamie argument

We’re finally going to get the next new episode of Blue Bloods on CBS this Friday, but for the sake of this article we’re looking down the road. To be specific, we’re talking here about the episode airing a week from Friday, one that could prove to be especially important for the characters of Danny and Jamie Reagan.

So what’s going to happen here? It’s fairly simple to explain, especially when you look at the photo above — the two are going to be involved in an epic argument, one that starts off Danny refusing to follow one of his brother’s orders. This is absolutely not something that Donnie Wahlberg’s character is used to doing and it makes a good bit of sense why — he’s done his own thing for much of the series, and it’s only recently that he’s found himself in a situation where Jamie outranks him in the first place. This is, inevitably, the sort of thing that is going to take him a little bit of time to get accustomed to. There are just a lot of different dynamics at play here, whether it be Danny/Jamie off the job and the way that Danny handles authority when he is on the job.

What Danny will probably realize at some point on this episode is that his brother needs his support for a number of different reasons. For starters, he has to recognize that this is someone who is still trying to find his way — if his own brother doesn’t respect him, how will anyone else? Beyond that, he also needs to figure out that disobeying him is also going to reflect poorly on him, depending of course on the circumstances. Other cops may be aware of some of his actions and wonder why he wouldn’t want to do more to help his brother, who is still learning the ropes of being a Sergeant.

Based on the photo, we do know at least that this is going to be a pretty public argument. It’s going to be hard for anyone to avoid seeing it.
