The Masked Singer episode 5 preview: A new change in the lineup!

For the better part of the past few weeks, we’ve seen things work in a rather specific order — you had a group of contestants one week and then a different group the next. Moving forward, though, the next episode will feature the Rabbit, the Bee, the Unicorn, and the Alien in a single episode! One of them will end up getting unmasked here, and we’re worried already for the unicorn given that she’s up against three people who may have at least some sort of singing experience. (The Lion apparently is not a major recording artist, but she has a good singing voice.)
One thing that we do notice from this preview is that you’ve got a performance in here from the Lion that’s been hyped up on the show ever since before the premiere. There’s one other performance out there that we’ve been eager to see for a really long time now — The Monster doing Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me.” We definitely do think the Monster is our own favorite of the group, so not having him in the next new episode does feel like a little bit of a bummer.
How about new clues?
Apparently, there are going to be some different clues handed to the judges in the next round in the form of physical objects — not that we think the show really needs new clues, but it may add to some of the fun. Given that the internet seems to have figured most of these out, we do wonder if the enjoyment now is going to come from a) just watching the performances and b) seeing just how terribly a lot of the judges do when it comes to their guesses.
This does still remain one of our favorite shows of the winter, so no matter what happens from here, our hope is that it just ends up being entertaining.
